Program to make units conversions.
The Digital Shoreline Analysis System (DSAS) is computer software that computes rate-of-change statistics from multiple historic shoreline positions residing in a GIS. It is also useful for computing rates of change for just about any other boundary change problem that incorporates a clearly-identified feature position at discrete times.
The Netherlands ministry of public works developed a nice program for conversions. After download and extract the program, you can run coord.exe. This program starts with copyright and liablility statement in Dutch. Fill in any name in the textbox, and click on ok. Then the program itself opens. This program is in English. Unfortunately the help-files are only in Dutch, but the program works quite easily without explanation.
Coastal and River Engineering Support System. This is a package with many routines to be used in coastal engineering. Most formulas from the "Rock Manual" are also included. The package is free downloadable via www.cress.nl. The package is maintained by TU Delft and the Netherlands Ministry of Public Works. The package is available in English, Dutch and Spanish. A French version is in preparation.

If you don't have a real weather buoy nearby, a Virtual Buoy is the next best thing, or better in some ways. It is a wave model prediction of a buoy report. Wave height, wave direction, wind speed, wind direction and period are extracted from NOAA WAVEWATCHII model and displayed like a buoy report. From the report, you are able to estimate the current wind and swell conditions and get a seven day buoy report forecast.
